제목 Synthesis and Properties of α,ω-bis(6-hydroxyethoxypropyl)poly(dimethylsiloxane)-based Polyurethane Actuators
초록 Polyurethane containing α,ω-bis(6-hydroxyethoxypropyl)poly(dimethylsiloxane)(PDMS) as soft segments have had a unique property. It is well known that siloxane polymers and elastomers possess some interesting properties such as low density, low Tg(-120℃), good oxidative stability, good biocompatibility and keep softness and elasticity at low temperature. Conventional polyurethane elastomers (PUEs) have been known as electrostrictive material. Conventional PUEs have had rapid response time of electric field induced strain, but the amount of displacement is small. In order to improve this problem, we introduce PDMS as soft segments, which have good mechanical properties, softness and elasticity at low temperature. PDMS based polyurethane were synthesized by conventional prepolymer method and obtained in the form of films by casting method. Polyurethanes were characterized by gel permeation chromatography (GPC), tensile testing, and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Also, electric field induced strains of PDMS based polyurethanes were measured.
