제목 Investigation on actuation factors & performance of IPMC actuators by prepared radiation grafting
초록 Ionic polymer-metal composite (IPMC) has great potential for actuators because of compactness, lightness, high flexibility, high energy efficiency and large displacement. IPMC actuator is composed of ion-exchange membranes(IEMs) and metal electrodes. Its actuation performance is much affected by both membrane properties(equivalent weight and ionic conductivity)and electrode properties(metal content, morphology, and interface area). The purpose of this study is distinctly to compare empirical effect of membrane and electrode properties on IPMC actuation. IEMs were manufactured by γ-ray radiation grafting and their properties were controlled by ion exchange capacity. Metal electrodes were chemically plated by impregnation/reduction and their properties were controlled by various plating conditions. These were characterized by AC impedence, FE-SEM , EDS , DSC and laser displacement meter.
