In this study, phospholipid-immobilized CdSe/ZnS core-shell nanoparticles (PCZNPs) were prepared by a coupling reaction of trioctylphosphine oxide-coated CdSe/ZnS core-shell nanoparticles (CZNPs) with DSPE-PEG(2000) and carboxylic acid-terminated PEG-2-PE (PCZNPs). Then, herceptin was introduced to the surface of PCZNPs (HPCZNPs) to enhance the antitumor effect of chemotherapeutic agents without increasing their toxicity. The surface properties of PCZNPs and HPCZNPs were characterized by FT-IR, UV, PL, TEM, DLS and zeta potential. To evaluate the cell compatibility and cytotoxicity of PCZNPs and HPCZNPs, human breast cancer cells were cultured in the presence of nanoparticles. Interaction of HPCZNPs with cells was also observed by confocal laser scanning microscopy. |
