제목 Mechanistic Study of Hydrogen Peroxide Disproportionation by Dimanganese Complex
초록 To study hydrogen peroxide disproportionation catalysis by [TPA2MnII2(µ-Cl)2](ClO4)2 complex, UV-Vis, EPR, ESI-MS spectroscopic approaches, as well as kinetic study, were used. Electronic spectra changes upon addition of hydrogen peroxide were observed and the oxidized [TPA2MnIIIMnIV(μ-O)2]3 complex was identified based on its distinct λmax at 439 nm, 558 nm and 657 nm. After catalysis, the dimanganese complex was decomposed and the [TPA2MnII](ClO4)2 monomer was isolated and characterized. Attempts to characterize the unknown intermediate using EPR spectroscopy suggested formation of low-valent dimanganese complexes of MnIIMnIII and MnIIIMnIII. Formation of these intermediates was detected by Low-temp UV-Vis and ESI-MS measurements.
