제목 Enhanced adhesion properties of a carbon steel and a polymercomposite using micro pattern fabrication
초록 Carbon steel is a metal material used widely in industry because of its mechanical properties so has potential to improve its property. In this research, we focused on improvement of adhesion properties between carbon steel and polymer composites by a micro pattern on the surface of carbon steel. In general, adhesion properties are determined by a roughness and topology of their surfaces. The more the roughness of the surface increases, the more their adhesion properties enhance but adhesion properties do not increase continuously even if the roughness increases continuously. There is the optimum roughness definitely to have the strongest adhesion properties. We fabricated the micro line pattern instead of random roughness to know how much it improved adhesion properties comparing to the random roughness. The micro line pattern was fabricated using photolithography and wet chemical etching method. Our research could give the powerful effect in industry in future.
