Optical elastic resins were synthesized by free radical photopolymerization to improve the shock resistance and the visibility of display. Novel optical elastic resin was formed by ultraviolet (UV) curing of acryl copolymer/reactive oligomer mixture. The UV-cured resins showed not only good transparency and adhesion performance but also improved shock resistance, durability, and stability. The functional groups of lower surface energy were introduced at side chain of acrylic copolymer. Surface energy has been recognized as one of the most important properties of coating materials for both fundamental and practical applications. These optical elastic resins were investigated in terms of peel strength, probe tack, and contact angle. As the content of functional groups increased, both peel strength and probe tack of optical elastic resin decreased but contact angle increased due to the increased hydrophobicity of optical elastic resin. |
