Photo responsive polycaprolactone / multi-walled carbon nanotube -azobenzene honeycomb patterned films |

In the present work, polycaprolactone/MWCNT - azobenzene honeycomb patterned films were fabricated under humid conditions, wherein azobenzene modified MWCNT is used as a conductive and photo responsive filler in polycaprolactone matrix. The formation of composite film was confirmed by FTIR and UV-visible spectroscopy techniques. The formation of honey comb pattern is investigated using scanning electron microscopy. The ternary composite films were tested for its photo-responsive conductivity; the results show a considerable and reversible change in electrical conductance upon illumination with UV and Visible lights. Azobenzene molecules on MWCNT in ternary composite films undergo conformational change on photo irradiation forms the basis of changes in electrical conductivity. These photo responsive ternary composite patterned films has added advantages of biodegradability, eco-friendly, easily handleable, flexible and light weight. |
