Benzo[1,2-b;3,4-b']dithiophene(BDT) is another well used donor unit in high performance polymers at present. Because it have many advantages which are long π conjugation length, low HOMO level and high charge carrier mobility. Having a BDT's advantages and to boost planartiy, we synthesized the structural isomer of BDT unit. It is a benzo[2,1-b;3,4-b']dithiophene(BDP). BDP is a 2,5-connected dithiophene derivative that is fused with a benzene ring. A fused aromatic structures improve planarity. The benzene core decreases electron richness of the flanked bithiophene unit, which provides a deep HOMO level. The extended π system also helps to form highly ordered films that facilitate charge-carrier transport. So we synthesized BDP-based conjugated polymers via Stille coupling reaction. The synthesized polymers were characterized optical, electrochemical and photovoltaic properties, respectively. |
