Block-copolymer-like supramolecules prepared from simple blending of mono-end-sulfonated polystyrene and mono-end-aminated polybutadiene show unique properties such as dimensional swelling and morphology switching. Recently, we observed that this supramolecular system shows ususual morphology that we named as ‘nanothread’ which has not been seen in block copolymer system. Moreover, the component forming nanothread (crosslinked polybutadiene in this study) can be isolated by means of cutting supramolecular interaction and removing the matrix. This kind of material is hard to be fabricated by top-down approach because diameter of this nanowire is very small (< 20 nm). Thanks to high aspect ratio and exceedingly small diameter, this material is potentially applicable in various field such as nano-electronics. |
