Collagen, a well known protein has been widely used in medical application. Many natural polymers and their synthetic analogues are used as biomaterials, but the characteristics of collagen as a biomaterials are distinct from those of synthetic polymers mainly in its mode of interaction in the body. Poly vinyl acetate (PVAc) is used primarily in adhesives, both emulsion and hot melt types. PVAc is known as a leathery and water-resistant polymer and widely used in drug-delivery devise, which may improve the properties of collagen. Because collagen and PVAc have been used as polymeric biomaterials in a wide rage of applications, Collagen/ PVAc blends were prepared. The mixture was controlled ratio of collagen and PVAc. And materials physical properties of controlled are investigated in comparison with these of pure collagen. |
