Nomura and coworkers has recently reported a very versatile type of Cp*M(OAr)X2 complexes (M = Ti; X = Cl; OAr = 2,6-dialkyl substituted aryloxy group) as precursors for the home- and co-polymerization of styrene, ethylene, 1-hexene, and norbornene. To reduce the amount of catalyst and cocatalyst MMAO, we designed novel catalytic systems containing three Nomura-type catalysts linked by the three-armed ligands. Here we present the preparation, characterization, and polymerization behavior of novel trinuclear Nomura-type complexes connected by flexible linkage ligands. In addition, their polymerization behavior will be compared with that of the corresponding monomeric Nomura-type catalysts Cp*TiCl2(O-2,6-R2Ph) and Cp*Ti(OMe)2(O-2,6-R2Ph). |
