We have investigated the photoluminescence (PL) phenomena of functional dopants doped polypyrroles (Ppy-DEHS, Ppy-BNS) in organic solvents with various conditions. As the polymer concentration increased, the normalized PL intensity decreased abruptly above the over-lap concentration while the UV-Vis. absorbance still increased. It is attributed to the aggregation between the polymer chains. Even when the polymer concentration was fixed to 4103 wt%, the PL intensity was dependant on the solvent media. From the results of UV-Vis. and PL spectra, we found that the change in polymer chain conformation from expanded to coil-like structure resulted in blue-shifted emission and reduced PL intensity. |
