We synthesize various conducting polymers (CPs; polythiophene, polyaniline, and polypyrrole) using graphene oxide (GO) as an initiator. TEM (transmission electron microscopy), SEM (scanning electron microscopy), FT-IR (fourier transform-infrared spectroscopy), and UV–visible absorption spectroscopy analysis demonstrate the successful polymerization of CPs by GO. Particularly, concrete polymerization mechanisms of CPs by GO were proposed based on the FT-IR and UV–visible absorption spectroscopy. The CPs were fabricated in only a few minutes (as short as 10 minutes). Additionally, they show enhanced electrical conductivity compared to that of the pristine GO and thermally heated GO. |
