제목 OPTIMIZATION OF POLARIZING FILMUSING NOVEL DICHROIC AZO DYES
초록 Polarizing films are important in a variety of industrial applications, including high-precision optical devices, photography filters, antiglare sunglasses and liquid crystal displays (LCDs). According as application fields of LCDs are becoming wider, demand of highly durable polarizing films is increasing. A polarizing film based on poly(vinyl alcohol)-dye complex is superior from the viewpoint of durability. However, polarizing efficiency of dye-based polarizing film is low compared with that of iodine-based polarizing film, which is most commercially used. To increase optical properties of dye-based polarizing film, novel dyes for polarizing film were designed and synthesized. Then, polarizing films using those dyes were prepared and optimized.
