The hydrophilic channels of Nafion® were modified with 3-aminopropylethoxysilane (3-APTES), which was able to react with sulfuric acid groups of Nafion®. First, Nafion® polymers were dissolved in the mixture of distilled water and ethyl alcohol. Then the desired quantity of 3-APTES was added, and the solution was cast on a glass plate and dried at 50 ℃. The film was immersed in a solution containing of formaldehyde and sodium sulfate. And the obtained membranes were subjected to react with phosphonic acid to increase proton conductivity. The proton conductivity was measured by 4-probe current interrupt method using impedance spectroscopy (IM6, Zahner). Transmission electron microscope (TEM) was used to analyze the structure of the membrane. The glass transition temperature (Tg) was measured with dynamic mechanical analyzer (DMAQ 800, TA instrument). |
