When the interfacial layer is formed at the carrier-collecting interface as work function modifier, the work function of electrode is tuned to well-match with the energy level of active layer. We design new block copolymers type of non-conjugated polyelectrolytes (n-CPE) as a work function modifiers based on polystyrene (PS) with polymerizable imidazolium salt, 1-(4-vinylbenzyl)-3-methyl-imidazolium chloride (PSlmCl). We synthetize the 4 kind of block copolymer, that is fixed polystyrene and changed the number of PSlmCl for well-match with energy level of acceptor. Then, we introduce n-CPE to inverted organic photovoltaic devices due to improve device performance by controlling the work function of ITO. The best performance of device was 7.55 % using the poly[4,8-bis(5-(2-ethylhexyl)thiophen-2-yl)benzo[1,2-b:4,5-b0]dithiophene-alt-3-fluorothieno[3,4-b]thiophene-2-carboxylate] (PTB7-th) as donor and [6,6]-phenyl-C71-butyric acid methyl ester (PC71BM) as acceptor with PS29-PSlmCl60. |
