The ring-forming polymerization of nonconjugated diynes is very interesting method for the synthesis of conjugated polymer system via an alternating intramolecularintermolecular chain propagation. The first conjugated cyclopolymer, poly(1,6-heptadiyne)s was insoluble in any organic solvent and unstable to air oxidation as like with that of polyacetylene. Thus, various substituted poly(1,6-heptadiyne)s were designed and synthesized. Here, we report the preparation of a polyacetylene derivative by the ring-forming polymerization of diacetylenic fluorene monomers and characterized the electro-optical and electrochemical properties of the resulting polymers. |
