In vitro Biocompatibility Study of Calcium Phosphate- Calcium Sulfate Composites for Injectable Bone Substitute (IBS) |
초록 |
In recent years, it has been tried to develop the efficacy and bioactivity of Calcium Phosphate-Calcium Sulfate by varying the amount in its compositions and relative concentrations. In this study, the biocompatibility of an injectable bone substitute (IBS) was evaluated which consisted of solution chitosan and citric acid as liquid phase and calcium phosphate (CaP)-dicalcium phosphate anhydrous (DCPA)-calcium sulfate hemihydrate (CHS) as powder phase. The setting times for all compositions were in the range of 25-45 min. The injectability and the compressive strength were improved by the addition of CSH. The phase formation after incubation in simulated body fluid (SBF) for different periods was checked using X-ray diffraction technique. The morphology was investigated using scanning electron microscopy. Osteoblast-like MG-63 cells were well attached and grown on the surface of IBS. In vitro cytotoxicity tests by an extract dilution method showed that the IBS is cytocompatible for fibroblast L-929. Variation of pH depending on incubation time and CSH contents will be also reported. |
