We newly synthesized a dicyanodistyrylbenzene-based reactive AIEgen (DRA) to fabricate polarized light emissive thin film. Basis of the microscopic observations with thermal and scattering ones, it was realized that DRA has a nemaic mesophase over a broad temperature range and is uniaxially aligned by surface anchoring of PI alignment layer. Uniaxially oriented and polymer-stabilized DRA polymer thin films were prepared by thiol-ene click reaction of DRA in anti-parallelly rubbed optical cells. The DRA polymer thin films showed linearly polarized luminescence (LPL) with excellent stabilities. The polarization ratio and order parameter of DRA polymer thin films were measured to be 2.25 and 0.29, respectively. The polymer-stabilized films prepared from reactive AIEgens have great potential to advanced optical devices and can provide new perspectives about LPL polymer films.
