제목 Cationic ring-opening synthesis of chloromethyl functionalized copolyethers derived from Ethylene oxide, Epichlorohydrin and Tetrahydrofuran
초록 Well-defined copolyether derived from ethylene oxide, epichlorohydrin and tetrahydrofuran was synthesized by cationic ring-opening copolymerization with 2-ethoxyethanol as initiator and BF3O(C2H5)2 as catalyst system. This polymerization was proceeded by activated monomer (AM) mechanism for controlling the molecular weight, narrowing molecular weight distribution, and functionality. The structure and molecular weight of synthesized copolymers has been characterized by 1H-NMR spectroscopy, elemental analysis and GPC copolymerization of EO and ECH gave only low MW product with low content of ECH units. But terpolymerization of EO/ECH in the presence of THF increased MW and polymerization yield.
