Novel nano-oxide dispersed ferritic stainless steel materials for solid oxide fuel cell interconnects |
초록 |
For intermediate temperature solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC), ferritic stainless steel based alloys are used as interconnects between the adjacent cells. However, due to severe chromia layer growth on the interconnect at high temperature increases the ASR and reduces the durability and performance of the SOFC. In this study, we developed novel nano-oxide dispersed SUS430 based alloys and tested for their long-term performance as SOFC interconnect materials. Nano-CeO2, -LaCrO3, and –Y2O3 were added to SUS430 and alloys were fabricated by powder processing methods. The developed alloys were tested for oxidation characteristics and long-term ASR behavior in air at 800 oC for 1000 h. The post-test oxide layer and surface was characterized by SEM, EDS and XRD analyses. The results suggest that the addition of 3-5wt% nano-CeO2 resulted in the best long-term ASR performance of the interconnect materials. However, Y2O3 addition might not have any significant effect on the ASR and oxidation properties of the interconnect materials. |
