Carbon nanotubes(CNTs) have come into the spotlight owing to their wide application in the field of nanotechnology, nanoelectronics, and composite materials. However, the low dispersion of CNTs in solvents is an impediment for their applications due to the poor solubility and processing. We report noncovalent functionalization of Single-Walled carbon nanotubes(SWNT) with poly[2-(dimethyamino)ethyl methacrylate]-grad-polystyrene (PDMAEMA-grad-PS) synthesized by ATRP(Atom Transfer Radical Polymerization). The functionalized SWNT with PDMAEMA-grad-PS was well dispersed in organic solvents. The PDMAEMA-grad-PS was analyzed by the means of nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR), gel permeation chromatography (GPC) and infrared spectroscope (IR). The transmission electron microscopy(TEM) was analyzed to ensure the functionalization of SWNT’s structure. |
