Nafion® Membrane cross-linked with MWCNT-g-Poly (Aniline-co-DABSA) Nanocomposites for Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cells |

Multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) was successfully functionalized with polymeric chain of poly (aniline) conjugated with 2, 5-diaminobenzenesulfonic acid (DABSA). Then Nafion ®/ MWCNT-g-poly(aniline-co-2,5-diaminobenzenesulfonic acid (DABSA) nanocomposite membranes have been fabricated by solution casting method and characterized for Direct methanol fuel cells (DMFCs). The IEC values of the nanocomposite membranes were measured by the thermo-acidic pretreatment method. IEC values increased around 30 % compared to recast Nafion® membrane. Oxidative stability measurements in terms of hydrogen peroxide decomposition rate have represented for investigation of both oxidative stability and catalytic activity of the prepared nanocomposite membranes against peroxide attack. |
