Destruction of organics using Ag(I)/Ag(II), Ce(IV)/Ce(III), Co(III)/Co(II) in nitric acid medium by divided electrochemical cell |
| 초록 |
Mediated electrochemical oxidation (MEO) process is a further extension of the conventional electrochemical treatment for the removal of organics with powerful mediator oxidants in acidic medium. In this report the experimental results of using Ag, Co and Ce as mediator ions were compared with respect to their electro-oxidation behavior within the limitations of each mediator metal ion and their destruction efficiencies were compared for destructing organic in continuous feeding mode. An investigation on the formation kinetics of Ag(II), Co(III) and Ce(IV) by means of a divided electrochemical cell. Reaction rate constants of water oxidation by silver were determined at different initial concentration of metal ions. |
