All-Printed Flexible Piezoelectric Nanogenerator Based on Composite Materials |

Piezoelectric ceramics that converts mechanical energy into electrical energy has been used in various applications such as energy harvesters, self-powered sensors, and healthcare devices. To date, many piezoelectric materials have been synthesized and exploited to fabricate piezoelectric nanogenerators. Composite-based nanogenerators incorporating piezoelectric nanoparticles into soft polymer matrices offer unique advantages over other approaches because the fabrication process is simple and scalable, using low-cost materials. In this study, all-printed flexible piezoelectric energy harvester based on PZT and Ag composite paste is developed by using a simple and facile 3D printing process. Flexible piezoelectric film and Ag electrode layers are printed onto a flexible substrate without high temperature annealing and complicated transfer processes. Under periodically mechanical deformations, we optimized the output performance of flexible piezoelectric nanogenerator as a function of poling voltage, strain rate, and strain speed. Our proposed approach is a remarkable improvement in the composite-based nanogenrator research for self-powered flexible energy source to realize the wearable electronics and sensors. |
