Structure and ion conductivity of P2O5-AgI-Ag2O glasses |

All-glass composites fabricated from mixtures of the superionic 33AgI•33Ag2O•33P2O5 and 60AgI•20Ag2O•20P2O5 glasses conduct Ag+ ions. It is demonstrated that such composites can be easily formed by high-pressure methods. The glasses of the silver phosphate system has the range of glass formation in this system of very wide and the conductivity of the glasses with different contents of AgI. This indicates an increase in crosses link density and enhanced chemical durability of these glassy materials. The present paper reports characterization and ion transport studies on P2O5-AgI-Ag2O glass by X-ray diffraction, fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, differential scanning calorimetric techniques and ion transport measurements |
