The effect of proliferation of RPEc on purified alginate film |

To transplantation of cell in human needs suitable scaffold which is cytotropic and do not occur cytotoxic reaction or some immune rejection response. One of scaffolds, alginate is currently proved biological safety and used as a scaffold of cell culture. In this study , We observed an effect of purification of alginate as scaffold and also observed cell surface, cytotoxicity, using by RT-PCR, SEM, MTT, Immunofluorescence staing ,after seeding and incubating RPE on alginate films over 2 weeks. In this experiment, We confirmed that cultured RPE from purified alginate film is more intact and proliferation rate than control group. Also we hypothesized purified alginate film has many advantages as cell therapy material because of decrease in inflammatory and rejection responses. Many other in vivo experiments are needed to apply to human and this result will be helpful in epithelial cells of the retina for the treatment and transplantation.
