1,2,3-triazolium based poly(ionic liquid) (PIL) electrolytes with tetraethylene glycol spacer were synthesized via copper-catalyzed alkyne-azide cycloaddition (CuAAC) of an α-azide-ω-alkyne monomer. The process was followed by quarternization reaction using methyl iodide and subsequent anion exchange with different fluorinated salts. Structural property relationship, thermal stability, and ionic conductivity were investigated by FTIR, 1H NMR spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis(TGA), differential scanning calorimetry(DSC) and AC impedance spectroscopy (EIS), respectively. Effects of different fluorinated salts on the physical, thermal and electrochemical properties of the PIL were investigated. PILs produced were compared with the best PILs and other PILs bearing different spacers. The broad structural design and enhanced properties of these PILs warrants many electrochemical applications. |
