Releasebehaviors of dual drug eluting stents coated by using electrospray for anti-restenosis |

In this study, biodegradable poly(lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA) and poly(L-lactide) (PLLA) were used as a drug carrier for alpha lipoic acid-loaded stents. A drug eluting stent (DES) made of Cobalt-Chrome (Co-Cr) is used to open up any blocked ducts in human body. The development of coronary artery stenting can reduce the coronary occlusion and restenosis. Electrospraycoating system was utilized to coat biodegradable PLGA and PLLA containing drug on stent sample. Drug from DES sample was released in PBS (pH 7.4) at 37 ℃. The sample was then analyzed using UV-spectrophotometer for drug release concentration. The less polymer concentration, the faster drug release. |
