제목 Reversible, solid state CO2 sorbents using amidine derivatives
초록 Amidines react with CO2 reversibly in the presence of water or alcohol. Here we present energy-efficient hydroxylated amidine (HAM) derivatives that can capture and store CO2 in a quantitative manner under clean and dry conditions. The HAMs capture CO2 at room temperature to yield solid organic salts which release CO2 quantitatively above 60 oC. The HAM were impregnated into porous silica particles to form powdery CO2 sorbents, which can help to release the heat of reaction and to enhance the rate of CO2 capture and capture efficiency by increasing surface area. The CO2-sorption and release property of HAM and HAM/silica was characterized by NMR, FTIR and TGA. The gas selectivity of HAM/silica was also studied.
