제목 Rapid Thermal Processed Efficient Solar Cells with Earth Abundant CZTS Absorber Layer Prepared Using Layer-by-Layer Approach
초록 Solar cells based on earth abundant Cu2ZnSnS4 (CZTS) absorber layers have recently shown a promise as an alternative to more mature CIGS thin film technologies. Still there is much room for the improvement by employing a novel solution based methods and systematically investigating material properties, and film and device processing. Herewith, we report a rapid thermal processed efficient CZTS absorber layers prepared using layer-by-layer processing. The process involved ensures that the fabrication cost remains low and the processing is simple. More specifically, Cu-Zn-Sn-S precursor films were prepared by modified SILAR sequence with 80 cycles. We modified SILAR sequence and separated out the cationic solutions due to different adsorptivities of cations (Cu+, Zn2+, Sn4+) in single cationic solution to well control the chemical composition of the precursor films. The deposited CZTS precursor films were then annealed in graphite box containing 0.02 gm ‘S’ powder using RTA processing furnace for different temperatures ranging from 520 to 580 oC. The versatility of this layer-by-layer approach is highlighted through the fabrication of thin film solar cells (TFSCs) with the highest power conversion efficiency of 2.1%, which the highest obtained so far for this process. The reasonably good performance of resulting TFSCs signifies a chance to further extend this process into the next chapter of CZTS TFSCs.
