Shape-Anisotropic Particles by Controlled Assembly of Aspect Ratio-controlled Nanorod Surfactants and Block Copolymers |
초록 |
The effect of aspect ratio (AR) of nanorod surfactants on the shape and internal morphology of block copolymer (BCP) particles was systemically investigated using CuPt nanorods with different AR values ranging from 1 to 20. A series of PS-b-P4VP with different molecular weight was used, where the window of the length of the NRs over the size of the NR-hosting P4VP(PDP) domain (l/L) was tunable in a range from 0.06 to 2.41. In the case of cylindrical BCPs, CuPt NRs were localized preferentially and confined at the P4VP domain on the surface of the particles only in the specific region of AR values (0.24 ≤ l/L ≤ 0.98), generating convex lens-shaped particles. For the symmetric BCPs, ellipsoidal particles were obtained as the l/L value was larger than 0.22. Furthermore, we suggests an insight about the origin of the formation of anisotropic particles by performing theoretical simulation to demonstrate the AR-dependent NR location within the BCP particles. |
