In this study, the difference in physical properties of GB (Graphite Block) was compared with the binder pitches prepared through thermal synthesis and pressurization pretreatment of PFO (Pyrolysis fuel oil). In the experiment, based on the binder pitch made by thermal synthesis reaction of PFO, another pitch is prepared through the thermal synthesis reaction under the same conditions after pressurization pretreatment. To compare with commercial pitch, SP (Softening Point), TI (Toluene Insoluble), CV (Coking Value), TGA (Thermogravimetric analysis), ICP-MS (Inductively Coupled Plasma-Mass Spectrometry) and SARA (Saturates, Aromatics, Resins and Asphaltenes) analysis are measured to physical properties. Also, to compare the physical properties of GB, a comparative analysis is performed by measuring the CV, Porosity, and bulk and skeletal density. Binder pitch made based on PFO has a higher CV compared to commercial pitches, it can be expected to improve physical properties in GB. |
