Supercritical alcoholysis as one of the non-catalytic biodiesel manufacturing method many studies have been conducted. Manufacturing of biodiesel using methanol as the alcohol is already showing good efficiency. Also, using ethanol, biodiesel manufacturing, many studies have been conducted. Biodiesel manufactured with the ethanol shows better combustion characteristics due to its lower enthalpy of vaporization and auto-ignition temperature than with the methanol. But, manufacturing biodiesel process with ethanol have disadvantage slow reaction speed and bad reaction efficiency than with methanol. In contrast, using methanol process have good reaction speed and reaction efficiency. So, in this study, to improve the disadvantages of using ethanol, evaluate the optimum conditions for biodiesel manufacturing using a mixture of ethanol and methanol. |
