제목 Martensitic transformation process of spherical B2 particle on early deformation stage of TiCu-based bulk metallic glass composite
초록  B2 phase reinforced bulk metallic glass composites have been highlighted for improvement of mechanical properties of monolithic bulk metallic glasses due to their strong work hardening behavior and large plasticity. This excellent combination of work hardening and large plasticity was associated with martensitic transformation of B2 phase embedded on amorphous matrix. However, systemic investigation of martensitic transformation behavior of B2 phase on BMG composites during elastic and plastic deformation has not yet been reported.  
In this work, we attempt to understand the martensitic transformation process of B2 spherulite on early work-hardening stage of TiCuNiZrSn bulk metallic glass composite containing micron-scale B2-TiCu phase using deformed samples with different degree of deformation. The phase transformation and deformation behavior of B2-TiCu phase were identified by systemic investigation using TEM method. The martensitic transformation from B2 phase to B19` phase occurred from interface region between B2 phase and amorphous matrix to inside region of B2 phase with distance under 100 nm at the before yield state of present bulk metallic glass composite. Right after yield, the martensitic transformation region was extended to ~ 130 nm. Moreover, the deformation twinning of B19` phase in martensitic transformed region close to interface was observed. As increase plastic strain to ~1%, the martensitic transformed region was more spread out to ~ 440 nm. From these results, it is believed that the higher stress concentration applies around the interface compared with inside of B2 phase, and the occurrence of this gradual stress applying from interface region to inside region during deformation induces gradual martensitic transformation from interface region to inside region of B2 phase.
