The optical characteristics of Au, Ag, and AgcoreAushell nanoparticles with dopamine concentrations and core-shell ratio |

The detection by optical means is of particular interested recently. Metallic nanoparticles such as Au and Ag colloids or Ag/Au bimetallic are widely used as active components for the optical sensing of bio-recognition events. In this work, Au, Ag and AgcoreAushell nanoparticles have been prepared by citrate reduction method and their optical properties with different concentrations of dopamine were compared. The result shows the absorption and Raman scattering spectra of Au, Ag and AgcoreAushell nanoparticles are strongly dependent on the dopamine concentration and core/shell ratio of AgcoreAushell nanoshells. By this way the most active particles to dopamine in optical testing can be selected and used in detecting dopamine, so that the sensitivity can be greatly improved. |
