Preparation and characterization of kenaf-based activated carbon by phosphoric acid activation methods for automobile canister |
초록 |
In this study, the kenaf core based Activated carbons (ACs) for automobile canister were prepared by phosphoric activation method. The surface and structural characteristics of ACs were observed by scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction, respectively. Pore characteristics were investigated by N2/77K adsorption isotherms. Butane working capacity (BWC) were observed according to the ASTM D5228. From the results, it was found that specific surface area and pore volumes were enhanced with increasing activation time and temperature. Specific surface area of the ACs were increased up to 1870 m2/g and the porous carbons were found to be mainly composed of mesoporous structures. The adsorption isotherm curve of all ACs is classified as Type IV by the IUPAC classification |
