Flow chemistry, which chemical processes run in the continuous flow stream, is a convincing strategy for the mass production of the conjugated polymers. It has more advantages over the conventional batch process, which includes superior heat and mass transfer, accurate control of reaction parameters, and quick reaction optimization. With these advantages, several studies have been reported conjugated polymer synthesis by utilizing the flow reactors. However, the studies of finding key factors that controls the molecular weights, which govern the performances in organic devices, in flow reactors have not been reported. With a newly made continuous flow reactor system, we present a synthesis of a widely used conjugated polymer, PTB7, and studies of molecular weights of resulting polymers in different reaction conditions. |
