Characteristic of Benzimidazolone Pigment Produced by Intoduction of Oranic Solvents and Dispersion Derivatives |

Pigment yellow 180 (P.Y.180) is a benzimidazolone pigment which has been widely used in the field of printing ink, plastics, color toner, color filter, etc. It is a greenish to medium yellow shade pigment with excellent light fastness, heat and solvent resistance, and acid and alkali resistance. In this study P.Y.180 was synthesized by cold coupling reaction. Various dispersion derivatives were added during the reaction.After finishing the reaction, the particle of product was grown with various solventsat propertemperature by the use of autoclave to improve dispersion property of product.It was found that the size and shape of particle and crystalline structure were controled at reaction factor such as time, temperature, the kind of solvent having different polarity. |
