제목 Bioactivation of scaffold surface using peptide for enhanced tissue regeneration
초록 Surface modification of scaffold using bioactive molecules tissue regeneration has been a high demand in the development of clinical regenerative medicine. Herein, identification/ application of bioactive peptide domain onto the scaffold surface will be discussed. Peptides were isolated from various growth factors/extracellular matrix protein and examined their activities through cell growth test, differentiation activity. The peptides were able to present apatite formation. Scaffold surface alone was not able to induce noticeable mineral creation however, mineralization was evident with the peptides, implying that the peptide played a pivotal role in biomineralization. In vivo result further demonstrated that the peptide with material was able to induce bone formation in the bone defect. Taken together, the peptide herein and its assembly with scaffold surface can be applied as an inducer of biomineralization as well as a bioactive scaffold for bone regeneration. .
