Effect of the photocatalytic activity of the metal doped black TiO2 based photocatalysts |

Herein, Titanium dioxide (TiO2) based photocatalysts were synthesized by hydrothermal treatment modified sol-gel process. V, Fe, Ni, Pd were used as a dopant to synthesize a series of metal doped TiO2 with desirable properties for decolorization of organic contaminants in the presence of natural solar irradiation. The physicochemical properties of the photocatalysts were examined by XRD, N2 physisorption studies, TGA, SEM-EDAX, UV-visible DRS and HRTEM. XRD results revealed that through varying the reaction conditions and metal-to-Ti ratios; Metal-TiO2 crystals with different phase structure, morphology and particle size can be attained after calcination. |
