Characterization of composite membrane sPPO/PVdF/UAN for vanadium redox flow battery |

Hydrocarbon based membrane has studied for replace Nafion because of their resonable conductivity, low permeability and low cost. Product blend membrane method is general used for enhance character of membrane. But blended polymer’s different polarity may cause interfacial unstable state. In this study make composite membrane hydrophilic and hydrophobic polymer with amphiphilic polymer. The sulfonated poly phenylene oxide (sPPO) was used in hydrophilic ion conductor. For enhance mechanical strength, hydrophobic poly vinylidene difluoride (PVdF) was selected. The urethane acrylate non-ionomer (UAN) was used in compatibilizer for enhance facial stability. The composite membrane characterized via dimensional stability, water uptake, conductivity, permeability unit cell performance test. |
