Synthesis and characterization of poly (arylene ether sulfone) membrane for alkaline membrane fuel cell. |
초록 |
Alkaline membrane fuel cell (AMFC) has received considerable attention due to fast oxygen reduction reaction, which can lower amount of platinum catalyst loading. However, available anion exchange membranes (AEM) are limited for wide researches and application of fuel cell. In this study, anionic poly(arylene ethers sulfone)(SPES) multi-block copolymer membranes with trimethylammonium group were synthesized via nucleophilic aromatic substitution, followed by chloromethylation and quaternization. Length of hydrophobic and hydrophilic blocks was controlled to have different ion exchange capacity. Their chemical structures and degree of chloromethylation were characterized by NMR. Other physical properties such as alkaline stability, hydroxide conductivity and water uptake were investigated. These new ionic block copolymer membrane can be a candidate as AEM for AMFC. |
