제목 | Synthesis and characterization of novel blocked isocyanate |
초록 | The extreme reactivity of isocyanate with hydorxy compounds makes them attractive cross-linking agents for making different polyurethanes in the form of fibers, soft and hard elastomers, coating for many purpose, adhesives, binders and highly cross-linked plastics. However, in some of the above applications it is necessary to delay the desired isocyanate-hydroxyl reaction until the final stages of the febrication or use. In order to achieve their objective and to eliminate its reaction with moisture, blocked isocyantes are used to generate the isocyanate functionality of the proper stage. Few reviews and research paper have been published in which large number of patents describe the applications of blocked polyisocyanate. In this report, we described the preparation and properties of blocked isocyanate which was blocked with two different blocking agents. Thermal properties of this blocked isocyanates were studied using DSC and TGA. The blocked isocyanates were used as crosslinkers in hydroxyl terminated polyurethane and films were casted. The mechanical properties of this films were measured using UTM. |
