제목 Electrochemical CO2 removal by brine electrolysis
초록 The combustion of fossil fuels is the major sources of the increase of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere causing the global warming. The process of sodium hydroxide (NaOH) production via brine (NaCl) electrolysis and CO2 removal is studied. It is revealed that seawater concentration of brine solution is available for both anolyte and catholyte. In addition, above 80% of CO2 removal is obtained at cell temperature of 90 ℃. The NaOH production and CO2 removal processes are examined under the different conditions. From the experimental results, the flue gas containing 10 % (v/v) of CO2 is appropriate to be treated using the equipment under the experimental conditions in this study.
