제목 연료전지자동차용 연료변환기의 일산화탄소 정제 장치
초록 In on-board reforming system of FCV (Fuel Cell Vehicle), a CO clean-up unit plays an important role in preventing CO in reformate from poisoning the anode catalyst of PEMFC. Generally, PROX (Preferential Oxidizer) is chosen as the CO clean-up unit, since its dynamic performance and compactness are superior to those of any other candidates. This study is focused on the development of highly compact PROX system. Pt-Ru catalyst, which had been developed in optimized ratio of Pt/Ru, was applied for the PROX. With the catalyst, 10kWe and 25kWe PROX were developed as specially designed systems. The performances were evaluated using the gasoline reformate containing 1% CO. The 10kWe PROX was designed as a combined type of two stages. Each stage consisted of multi-tube reactors. Small size of catalyst, 0.3~0.6mm, was loaded in the tubes for the maximization of the performance. The multi-tube design could prevent hot spot without bed cooling. The number and length of tubes were considered to minimize the pressure drop. On the basis of the development experience, 25kWe PROX system with the similar design was developed and the performances is being tested. To meet the challenge of non-pellet application, small-scaled PROX with a heat exchanger type was manufactured and is currently being evaluated, which is favorable for the catalyst durability of real vehicle system. The performances, pressure drop, and volume will be compared with packed bed reactor.
