The Development of Pre-combustion CO2 Capture System for IGCC |
초록 |
KEPRI, KIER and IAE with government support are jointly participating in the development of advanced pre-combustion CO2 capture system with solid sorbent. The solid sorbent pre-combustion CO2 capture technology is one of advanced approaches for capturing CO2 from integrated gasification combined cycle (IGCC). Pre-combustion CO2 capture becomes competitive with other coal-fired power generation with CO2 capture due to high pressure and possibly high temperature of the fuel stream. To minimize the energy consumption during the CO2 capture process, KEPRI’s pre-combustion CO2 capture has two distinctive targets; one is to minimize the reduction of the power efficiency of IGCC system by keeping the high pressure and high temperature of gas stream throughout warm gas clean-up and CO2 capture. And second is to reduce the CO2 capture cost by combined the solid CO2 sorbent process and water gas shift reaction process, namely sorption enhanced water gas shift (SEWGS). The water gas shift (WGS) process is an energy intensive process in the pre-combustion CO2 capture system leaded to about 7 % loss of IGCC efficiency. This presentation will be covered the recent preliminary results at KEPRI from warm gas cleanup, water gas shift catalyst as well as solid CO2 sorbent. |
