Preparation and chemical treatment of Poly(acrylonitrile) /hydroxyapatite composite beads for heavy metal removal. |
초록 |
A composite sorbent of Poly(acrylonitrile) (PAN) and hydroxyapatite (HAp) for removal of heavy metals from industrial and agricultural wastewater has been investigated. PAN/HAp composite beads were prepared by wet extrusion process from PAN/HAp solution in DMF. HAp was dispersed by sonication followed by addition of PAN and stirring. Lead (Pb) and cadmium (Cd) were employed to check the adsorption capacity of the PAN/HAp beads. The adsorption ability of PAN/HAp beads was measured at 20ppm of the heavy metal ions using a shaker bath. Adsorption amount and rejection rate of the beads for the heavy metals were using Atomic Absorption Spectroscope. The adsorption amount of the bead increased with increasing of HAp amount in the beads and temperature. The rejection rate was reached almost 99% for the bead containing 75% of HAp after 24h. Moreover, the beads were treated in aqueous NaOH for the purpose of enhancing adsorption ability of the beads. |
