제목 Sol-gel synthesis of pure and Cadmium-doped ZincOxide nanoparticles: Effect of solvent on the microstructure of the nanoparticles
초록 In the present work, the effect of cadmium on the size and optical properties of the synthesized ZnO powders was studied. Doped ZnO nanostructures were synthesized using ethanol, and methanol via the sol-gel method. The sol-gel method was opted for use due to its enormous advantages of low cost, and easy deposition procedure at low temperatures. A small percentage of cadmium oxide was incorporated into the ZnO samples to limit the amounts available in the sample. This is because cadmium has a notable toxicity. The samples were characterized using TEM, SEM, XRD and UV-vis spectroscopy to describe the physical characteristics of the structures that were formed.
