Preparation of Carbon Dioxide Adsorbent from PEI grafted Wheat Husk |

The Carbon dioxide adsorption materials using wheat bran husk(WH) as agricultural byproducts were developed and it was attempted to additionally reacted the polyethylenimine(PEI) to improve carbon dioxide adsorption performance. The adsorbent was prepared that WH was treated with epichlorohydrin(ECH) to introduce the epoxy groups and reacted with the primary amine of PEI. Also we also tried to improve the adsorption performance of carbon dioxide by additional-grafted PEI with glutaraldehyde. We compared that the carbon dioxide adsorption performance of the adsorbent with the cross-linked adsorbent. The carbon dioxide adsorption performances were measured using thermogravimetric analysis method. As a result of the analysis, it was confirmed that the additional-grafted of PEI was performed well, and carbon dioxide adsorption perfomance of the adsorbent increased with additional-grafted. |
